Book Review - The Third Day - Dwapara Yuga

The Third Day - Dwapara Yuga by Harshita Vallem is like our dreams. It is sometimes what is more real than ourselves, our hopes, our choices, our spirit. They are our only weapons to fight a destiny that is not ours. From the beginning the novel presents elements of mythology, but these are often told in a particular way.

The ancient dispute between Good and Evil is a game in which men do not command. In the Dwapara Yuga Brahma fought to recoup his reputation and Elsker, the Universe to save his love Sarayu, the earth. A terrorizing combat broke out between the cannibals and humankind. However, the union of Elsker and Sarayu finished the confrontation quickly yet. The iniquity had not yet ceased and Elsker left to put together his militia to battle the vice that was unleashed.

The story is very special and the plot very well narrated where we can witness the fusion of reality and fantasy, perhaps for the originality. It was strange to read these parallel stories with this mixture of fantasy and reality. Going onward, the story captures and curiosity began to be felt.

The first thing striking about this book is certainly the way in which the story is set. In the beginning in fact we are faced with two parallel scenarios with two different protagonists. There is one part imagination and one of our world with one big passion and a troubled life.

The author has in fact been able to take cue from Indian mythology. She has been able to perfectly combine these elements to her imagination, creating a mysterious and fascinating world. Suddenly, however, the fantasy becomes reality. The two worlds merge and the reader is catapulted into a fantasy world populated by mysterious beings and unknown to the human eye. The readers can be able to sense, as if they were part of the story, thanks to the intensity of the descriptions of the author.

From the first pages it’s a pure fantasy setting. Between passions and betrayals come to life the events that structure the novel. The antagonists are very well characterized and intelligently designed, becoming an evil figure but well hidden. Not only that, not everything is what it seems.

The author reveals the past that ties Elsker and Sarayu but without going into details, which capture even more curiosity. She introduces us to the heroes, the warriors who fight for the sake of the kingdom but they hide them in an obscure secret. At one point the story come together and create something magical in a unpredictable universe, even for the same creative.

The narrative continues, from this point on, marrying and blending the main story. Within the novel issues are ripe and delicate, even of the most gloomy and dark. There are aspects that seem so far away but really tied together inextricably. In the book you can actually feel strong feelings. We can taste the value of life, wonderful gift as ephemeral. Here we can enjoy the detailed descriptions of the places, detailed but not verbose.

The characters are very well characterized. The antagonist makes its appearance from the beginning. It is easy to become attached to them almost under with some really brilliant choices that have been made that allowed forward in the novel. There are multi-faceted characters and enrich so even more people. The story is pleasant that will make me continue reading with pleasure.

Profound themes and feelings intertwined contribute to enrich the novel. We come across the intimate legends and immerse ourselves in so many different worlds. It is a pleasure to be irrational, almost counterproductive, of almost infinite magnitude.

The flowing, captivating and magnetic style helps to create a work that has everything needed to become a real bestseller. It is definitely one of the best fantasy books in circulation. It is recommended not only to those who love the genre. I would extend the invitation to read to all those who want something intense and want to get involved in the power of a story.
